Electoral Literacy Club (ELC)

The Electoral Literacy Club aims to foster electoral awareness among school students in a fun, engaging, and age-appropriate manner, promoting democratic values such as equality, fairness, responsibility, and civic participation from a young age. It strives to develop responsible future voters who understand the value and power of their vote.

Aims and Objectives:

  • To develop responsible future voters who understand the importance of their vote and the democratic process.
  • To promote democratic values such as equality, fairness, responsibility, and civic participation.
  • To conduct mock elections and organize activities like quiz competitions, poster-making, skits, and debates to promote electoral understanding.
  • To instill values of informed and ethical voting, including awareness of NOTA (None of the Above), fair campaigning, and the consequences of vote-buying.
  • To celebrate National Voters’ Day (January 25) and other democratic events, fostering a civic-oriented school culture.
  • To partner with local election officials, NGOs, and civic bodies to support voter education campaigns.
  • To educate students about the importance of voting and the electoral process through interactive sessions.
  • To prepare student ambassadors who can spread electoral literacy within their families and communities, encouraging reflection on democratic rights and duties.
